Singapore and Johor Bahru are connected by two land crossings — the Woodlands Causeway and the Tuas Second Link — and picking the right one matters more than chasing whichever queue looks shorter on a camera feed.
Route match usually matters more than which checkpoint's queue looks shorter right now — a "faster" crossing that dumps you on the wrong side of town can cost you more time than it saved.

Woodlands is the busier, more central crossing — on a normal day it's the faster option, but on a Friday evening, the eve of a public holiday, or a long weekend, it's also the one that queues up worst, sometimes for hours. Tuas usually stays calmer per vehicle even at those times, at the cost of a longer drive for most JB-bound destinations since it lands you further west.
